Grant Enables Training for 45 Women and Youth

Tulsa Community WorkAdvance (TCW), part of the Madison Strategies Group, recently received a $35,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation’s State Giving Program.

Grant Enables Training for 45 Women and Youth

The grant will enable TCW to provide no-cost training to unemployed and underemployed Tulsa residents. TCW will prepare 45 women and youth in poverty for new careers in manufacturing and transportation industries.

“We appreciate the Walmart Foundation’s investment in our program, which allows us to increase diversity by preparing more women and youth for high-paying careers in Tulsa’s power sectors of transportation and manufacturing.”

The Walmart Foundation’s State Giving Program supports organizations that create opportunities so people can live better — awarding grants that have a long-lasting, positive impact on communities across the U.S.

“Walmart, and the Walmart Foundation, understand organizations such as Madison Strategies Group are essential to building stronger communities,” said Rodney Walker, Walmart vice president and regional general manager. “They share our values and are committed to helping those in need in the communities we serve.”
